About Us
The Founders
We came to the U.S. like many others — chasing the American Dream. Though we aren’t bound by blood and didn’t know each other before, we share the same values, vision, and work ethic. Over the past decade, we’ve grown together, built multiple businesses, and treated each other like family. That’s why we named our company KFam — short for ‘K Family’
What sets us apart isn’t just how we work — it’s why we work.
We don’t build businesses just to make money — we create one-of-a-kind brands that make us proud of our Vietnamese roots while introducing our culture to the world in a fresh, meaningful way.
Our journey has always been about shifting perspectives — elevating the Vietnamese community and sharing pieces of our heritage in the modern ways with people of all backgrounds.

Our Philosophy
Start bold. Shift culture. Move on with purpose.
We never build with the intention of staying in one place forever.
We build with meaning — with fire in our hearts and vision in our minds. And once our ideas take root, once the business gets the recognition it deserves, once others begin to replicate what we’ve introduced — that’s success. That’s impact. And that’s when we know it’s time to grow beyond the walls we’ve built.
Over the years, we’ve discovered something beautiful:
Real success isn’t measured by how many people come through our doors, but by how many hearts and minds we help open.
When our work sparks change…
When others are inspired to create, to follow, or to dream because of what we started — that’s the moment we quietly bow out, knowing the story will live on.
That’s when we know our job is done — and it’s time to pass the torch.
We often step away when a business is at its peak — when people still love it, when the story still shines.
Not because we have to. But because we choose to.
We choose to let go while the magic is still alive because we believe the purpose of building isn’t to hold on — it’s to lift up.
We are creators, not settlers. Dreamers, not repeaters.
We don’t just chase the spotlight — we create it, ignite it, and then move on so others can shine.
We start bold. We spark change. And we leave space for the next dream to begin.
That’s the legacy we want to leave behind — not just a business, but a movement that continues long after we’ve moved forward.
Our Journey
2016: Where It All Began — Redefining Vietnamese Beauty Services
Kayla and Ryan opened their first business — a salon named KStudio. At that time, hair and nail salons were common paths for Vietnamese immigrants, but the industry was often overlooked and underappreciated. Many viewed Vietnamese-run beauty salons as cheap, unprofessional, language-barriered, and stereotypes led many to look down on these jobs.
We wanted to change that narrative!
After years of hard work and saving, we invested $120K to create a clean, elegant salon staffed by trained professionals, offering high-quality service and clear communication. The salon quickly became a local success and helped reshape how Vietnamese salon owners are seen and respected.

2017: Breaking Boundaries — Introducing Boba Culture to All Communities
In 2017, Kris joined our entrepreneurial journey, and together we stepped into the food & beverage industry.
Back then, boba was popular in Asia but unfamiliar to many in the U.S., often seen as a quirky drink for kids. We knew it had more to offer.
We opened our first shop with $240,000, followed by a second with $360,000, creating beautiful tea lounges called BobaFitt that fused Vietnamese flavors with global trends.
It works. People from all backgrounds fell in love —not just for the flavors, but for what it made them feel.
We didn’t just sell drinks.
We served experiences.
We were a part that helped boba become more than a trend for kids. It became a bridge that connected cultures, invited curiosity, and celebrated the flavors we grew up loving.

2019: Changing Perceptions — Reimagining the Vietnamese Café Experience
By 2019, we were ready for something bigger — a challenge that would push our creativity and culture even further.
We all grew up in Saigon, knew cafés are part of everyday life — warm, creative spaces where food, drinks, and atmosphere come together. They’re places where people gather, work, and connect. But in where we live in the US, Vietnamese cafés were often misunderstood — associated with outdated stereotypes like bikini waitresses or adult-themed service.
We wanted to shift that image!
When we said we wanted to open a café, many people doubted us. But deep down, we dreamed of something different — a ‘secret garden’ where people could relax, connect, experience and create the best moments and memories.
We invested $1.5 million into KCafé, opening just as the covid-19 hit. Despite the challenges — including nearly a year of closure during the pandemic — it survived. Then it went viral, becoming one of the most Instagrammable cafés offering Asian-fusion brunch and high tea. It inspired others to reimagine what a Vietnamese café could be. People traveled from cities away just to visit. We later launched KOnTheGo, a smaller café concept that we successfully franchised.
For a while, we thought this was it.
We had made it. We were proud, fulfilled — and ready to keep growing.

2025: A New Chapter: Reintroducing the New Vietnam to the World
Time changes us.
After 10 years of building brick-and-mortar businesses, we felt something shift. The success was still there — but our purpose was evolving.
We no longer wanted to just build places.
We wanted to build movements.
We wanted more than profits. We wanted freedom, impact, and deeper meaning.
That’s when KFam took its next leap.
Kayla entered a pageant — and proudly earned the title of Miss Asia USA International.
She hopes to use this platform to honor her roots, represent Vietnam with pride, and help promote her culture in a meaningful and powerful way.
Soon after, we made the bold decision to return to Vietnam — not to start over, but to continue our mission in a new way.
We began building KDestinations — a tourism company that invites people to experience Vietnam like never before.
Vietnam has transformed into a vibrant, modern country — full of charm, innovation, and luxury. Yet the world still views it through outdated lenses of war, poverty, or the past.
We’re here to change that — again.
We believe it’s time the world sees the new Vietnam — welcoming, creative, and full of potential.
And through K Destinations, we’re ready to share its heart with the world.
